ABOUT ABOUT

Join us for a night of talent featuring from the great state of Texas, Amarillo's Musician of the year, Tennessee Tuckness, joining the night will also be Vincent Bernardy co-writer of "Pizza and Pinball" with Rumer and Travis Warren from Blind Melon.

The voice of singer/songwriter Tennessee Tuckness is a study in contrast - tough and tender, sultry and cool. Her songs are equal parts folk rock and country, with a dash of the blues sprinkled in. Bittersweet emotion is the ingredient that blends Tennessee's unique sound together -- emotion as heartfelt and deep as that of her greatest musical influences, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt and Emmylou Harris. A native of Amarillo, Texas, where she still resides, Tennessee began her musical journey at the age of fourteen when her mother bought her a 1952 Martin guitar. At sixteen, Tennessee gathered her courage and ventured in front of an audience. It was the first of many performances to come. The mid-eighties took Tennessee to the University of North Texas and the Dallas area where she regularly shared stages with Edie Brickell, Sarah Hickman and Brave Combo. This led to four years in Los Angeles where Tennessee lived, worked, and wrote songs, collaborating with local musicians and learning the business from the likes of the legendary Joe Walsh. I Am Not Forsaken, Tennessee's debut CD, was released in 1998. Consisting of ten original songs written by Tennessee and Amy Turner, the lyrics reflect the joys and heartaches of Tennessee's own life - from her time spent in L.A. as a struggling young songwriter to , years later, watching her restless teenaged son, Travis Warren, strike off on his own to follow in her footsteps. Tennessee's latest single, We Fly, a September, 1999 release, has been signed with Transition Music Corporation of Hollywood, California. We Fly has received excellent reviews and substantial air play, including regular spots on KACV FM 90, the most frequently honored college station in America and has even hit Penn State's radio program WPSU. In December, 2001, Tennessee released "Project Little Feat," her follow-up cd. The eclectic mix of tunes sweep from moody, romantic and emotional, to upbeat, edgy and raw, showcasing Tennessee's vast range of musical diversity. Included are renditions of Van Morrison's "Tupelo Honey" and Led Zepplin's "Goin To California", as well as Tennessee's own "She Don't Care (The Loretta Song)", "Soul Searchin", and "Let's Dance." In a day when most contemporary song lyrics speak of heartache, breakups and loss, "Project Little Feat" is a refreshing and hope-filled celebration of life and the enduring power of love.
